هذا النبات ،هي من بين النباتات المنزلية والمكتبية الأكثر شعبية للزينة ومع ذلك ما نعرف خطورتها،
هذا النبات يحتوي على سائل سـام في اوراقة والذي يمكن ان يحدث تهيج،
ويؤدي الى تخدير اللسان وتورم إذا تم وضعة في الفم او مضغة خصوصا من قبل الأطفال.
ان أكل هذة النبتة يمكن أن يقتل طفلا في دقائق، ويقتل بالغ في 15 دقيقة وفقا لمحتوى السم في أوراقه.
الاهم عند لمس اوراقة، ينبغي عليك ان لا تلمس عينيك اطلاقا لانة يمكن أن تسبب لك العمى جزئي و ربما دائم.
This plant, commonly called "Dumb Cane" are among the most popular houseplants for its beautiful variegations, full foliage and thick stems. However, this plant contains toxic sap which may cause irritation, tongue numbness and swelling if chewed by children. Further, it can kill a kid in minutes and an adult in 15 minutes depending on the poison content in its leaves. If touched, one should never touch his/her eyes as it can cause partial or permanent blindness.
